The title sounds simple enough, doesn't it? I was watching this show called A Chef's Life on pbs online. The chef and her mom made this classic southern dish. Seeing as it's still cooler here, warm broth with chicken cooked until falling off the bone was just what my belly needed!
Thanks to a friend who learned her son is allergic to fish, we were blessed with some frozen salmon and tilapia. We used the mild tilapia in this classic fun meal! This soup has nothing too crazy in it but it was a perfect, thin broth soup for an early dinner. Yep! That's how we're rolling today. I have been a bit under the weather but this morning my kids requested "porridge" which translates into fancy oatmeal...drizzle maple syrup, butter, raisins, side of peanut butter or almond butter. Surely the extra toppings remove any doubt of the humble cooking style... Our gas oven's igniter is broken and won't even be looked at for a week. So we are getting creative using our electric griddle, crockpot, percolator, vitamix, juicer and toaster. |
