There are few things better than that! Hi there! Have you ever tried to make sourdough starter? Making the sourdough starter from scratch usually takes a week or so and that's hoping you catch the good bacteria first time around. My husband loves sourdough and I have become quite partial to it myself so every new place we go, I try to start up a new batch. I am still working on getting my starter to thrive before I start using it in recipes.
Anyways, I happened upon this salt-rising bread and learned that many people used this method way back in the old days. You only need to let the starter sit overnight and it's ready to be used as leavening and nutritional value the next day! |
