Why We Blog
We are sisters either by blood or marriage and have all found our true love to be in the military. Combined with our mutual interests in nutrition, tasty, fresh food, new places and all things creative along with our desire to stay connected in each other's lives despite the distance, we have begun this blog to share with each other and the world, our local kitchens. From Hawaii to Georgia onto California, we're enjoying our local culture and history to bring borrowed or original recipes from our kitchen to yours. Our flavors may vary but our hearts are always to enjoy and treasure God's blessings in whatever form we are given. We would love to hear from you, so feel free to comment away!
Meet Jocelyn
Hello! I'm Jocelyn, sister to Jodye's husband, married to my own version of Cpt. America, mother of three crazy boys all ages three and under and currently stationed in Fort Benning, Ga. If you were to visit our home you would notice a wide variety of paintings and art. I would love to offer you some tea or coffee in one of my 37 mugs or 12 tea cups. You would also notice the trampoline dominating half of our family room, counteracting the effects of a wet summer. This is our sweet life and I hope you are blessed by its edited realities.
Meet Aly
Hi! My name is Aly, sister to Jodye. I am a girl who follows her hero wherever the Army sends him. Every day I wake up and find four little ones who call me mama and so I feed them! My hobbies include growing premature silver hair, enjoying the West coast, people-watching, making food and household products from scratch and spending time with the love of my life and my four munchkins. I am passionate about good food, living naturally within our means, new cultures, little baby kisses and laughing.
Meet Jodye
My name is Jodye, sister to Aly and sister-in-law to Jocelyn, and I just married a handsome Air Force officer and moved with him to Hawaii! We are getting settled in our surfing community bungalow and exploring the islands every chance we get. I love to travel, try new food, spend time with my family and friends, good coffee, and all things Japanese! I'm looking forward to sharing some of the Hawaiian culture, favorite local dishes, and our adventures in the military with you.
