My 10 month old loves yogurt. And I love it that she loves plain yogurt! So as I usually like to do, I tried several homemade, easy, yogurt recipes until I found one that worked for me. Check it out. The only thing I changed is that I didn't have a lot of powdered milk, so I put in about a 1/4 cup and it still turned out great! I don't like yogurt as thick as greek yogurt and thankfully, it wasn't. Nor was it too tangy, despite the fact that I left it in the oven overnight for 10+ hours. You can use the yogurt for chicken masala (on my menu list), in baking, to turn down the heat in spicy meals or just as the main course!
In a future blog post I'll highlight this a bit more, but I recently made a date & red wine reduction sauce to complement a roast chicken. After I was done making the sauce, the dates were no longer needed and were to be disposed. Being the penny-pincher that I am, I didn't want to see them go to waste. So I stuck the dates in the fridge and waited for a good use for them. The dates are awesome with the yogurt! Check out the recipe here. And if you didn't think you liked dates, you may surprise yourself with this recipe.
I was not a huge fan of dates, but this combination is awesome!
Don't judge the dates by the looks of them....

Last but not least, I topped it with homemade, crunchy granola. I am quite picky about my granola. This is the first recipe that is homemade and I enjoy. It's crunchy (mind you it crunches up after it's done baking) and is slightly sweet but not too strong. I love a good crunch! Grab the recipe here and go bake yourself some!.
I eat this for breakfast or for lunch or for the midnight munchies. Really it's good for any time, any day!
I hope you enjoy it too!
