During a recent family day for the hubby's unit, I snapped this picture of downtown Honolulu and Diamonhead in the distance. Below is a picture of a submarine that surfaced behind us. Little snapshots of our life in Hawaii :)

I first arrived at dusk on Thursday night but the men and women of the Air Force had been running since 6am that morning and would continue until 6am the next morning. In honor of the 83,000 prisoners of war and missing in action American military, the 24 hour team run would clock over 3,000 miles and end in a ceremony on Hickam Air Force base. My husband and his squadron participated in the event so I was able to observe.
September marks 8 months that we have lived in Hawaii and there is still SO much exploring I have yet to do! Last Saturday, the hubby and I took an impromptu trip to the east side of the island where I've spent hardly any time (J went to college here so has a list of places he wants to take me). I happily played tourist while he drove and snapped some pictures of the scenery on the way. (No filter,,,the colors really are this blue!)
Yep, beyond those clouds is the Golden Gate Bridge.
No, the day wasn't dreary actually, it's just typical summer weather in San Fran! We did get to taste some of San Fran's |
